What's in a Guidon?
Wikipedia defines a guidon as a military standard carried by platoon or company-sized elements to indicate their unit affiliation. My translation and elaboration is that it's a flag proudly carried by a group of people to declare to the world who they are. It's a symbol of who they are, and of the standard of who they are aspiring to be. Our mission at Guidon Consulting is to help our clients improve and do better, so that they can more effectively serve their clients. We believe that real change must start internally, since this is the area that we can most control. Like Michael Jackson said, we havev to start with the man in the mirror.

The prestige (or lack thereof) symbolized by a unit or company's Guidon is a direct reflection of its commitment to excellence. It is our assertion that companies who actively seek to improve themselves in more than just financial terms are the market leaders - rest are followers and will be left behind.
